#3.15 Fairytale
Bluey Recap: Fairytale (#3.15)
#bestbits: all the 80’s references (for the parents watching Bluey!)
#lifelesson: if you’re brave and honest, things will work out, and the 80’s was a WILD place
After reading the girls a fairytale, Bandit decides to tell them a “real life” one about a mean brother who ends up being good, a curse and a princess.
Once upon a time, in the 80’s, a ten year old bandit was on holidays with his brothers Stripe and Rad. They were riding their bikes (without helmets, cause the 80’s was a wild place with no trampoline nets, music on cassettes and mean mums who didn’t supervise everything).
Bandit was always teasing Stripe, so to teach him a lesson, Rad put the “jinx” curse on him. This is where, if two people say the same thing at the same time, and one person calls out “jinx” and isn’t caught in ten seconds, the other person can’t speak again until someone else says their name! If you do speak, terrible things will happen!!!
This then gave little brother Stripe the chance to get revenge on his mean brother Bandit. He teased him by pretending to say his name (Ban…….Diddums), ordering him the wrong lunch, and blaming him for eating all the mini cereals! Even their Dad, Bob, was no help, attempting to perform his own no talking jinx on ALL the boys.
Bandits Mum (Nana) refuses to say his name as well, telling him that it’s a chance for him to reflect on his bad behaviour teasing Stripe.
Just as Bandit becomes resigned to never speaking again, he has the chance to be nice and rescue Stripe from the prickles he is stuck in. Bandit does so by throwing his bucket hat on the ground as a stepping stone, but Stripe runs off cheekily without saying his name!
Luckily though, a girl picks up Bandits hat and reads out his name that’s written on it, breaking the jinx curse. It’s a young Chilli dressed up as She-Ra (the ultimate girl super hero of the day).
