It’s a stinking hot Queensland day and Mum and the kids are hanging out in the lounge room. Bluey is talking into the fan (who hasn’t done that as a kid!) and tells Mum she doesn’t want to brush her teeth as it’s booooring.
Dad arrives with pool noodles to tell them that Uncle Stripe is in Bali (of course he is, in a singlet drinking Bintang I bet) and they can use his pool. On the way out the door Mum reminds them to get the pool bag - not just the fun stuff. “BORING” yell Bluey and Dad.
On the car trip over, Bluey surmises that Mum is a fusspot as she always makes them do “boring” things.
However, on arrival at Uncle Stripes the kids have forgotten their (boring) thongs so Dad has to lug them AND the pool toys to the backyard.
Once at the pool they realise they’ve forgotten the (boring) rashies and (boring) sun cream so Dad says they’ll just have to play in the shade. Bluey is fine with this and jumps in but poor Bingo doesn’t have her (boring) floaties so she has to stay on the step and try to avoid the creepy crawly pool cleaner.
While playing jump the pool noodle Blueys eyes start to sting from the chlorine, but of course the don’t have the (boring) swim goggles.
They all sit on the step as the shade over the pool recedes and the girls start a chorus of “I’m hungry” “I’m bored” until Dad calls it a day. Unfortunately, there aren’t any (boring) towels so Bluey has to try and shake dry and Bingo refuses to get out of the pool (we’ve all been there....).
Just as the girls are doing a fantastic pester session and deciding in actual fact, DAD is the boring one and Mum is cool, Mum arrives with the (boring) pool bag!!!
They have lunch in the cabana and jump back in the pool with floaties, goggles, rashies and diving “thinkgies” proving that “boring” is sometimes also “important”
