Bluey and Dad are outside discussing the skill of not getting distracted like the doggnome garden statue when the family decide to play hide and seek. They make Bluey, the seeker, promise she won’t get distracted and forget she’s supposed to be looking for them.
Bingo hides in the toy box, Dad in the linen cupboard and Mum in the shower. Bluey starts seeking and successfully reminds herself not to get distracted as she finds a tennis ball and ‘Chattermax’ under the laundry sink - “I thought I’d lost you - I wonder why you were shoved under the sink?”
However the lure of playing with Chattermax is too strong and Bluey sets about feeding him and taking him to the toilet (I am SOOOO glad we don’t have a toy that has IBS).
As Bluey takes Chattermax to wash his hands, she wonders what it was she was supposed to be doing. Accepting that she’s forgotten, she decides to have a tea party with her toys instead.
At the tea party we learn why Chattermax was ‘lost’!!! Bluey scolds dancing Chattermax and her toy cat apologises for her pretend husbands behaviour.
Bluey tries to turn Chattermax off but realises there is no off switch. She yells out for help but can’t find anybody (surprisingly) so she takes Chattermax out to the garden. She has a flashback of her moment of concentration that morning and remembers that she is supposed to be playing hide and seek!
With the game finally remembered, Bluey finds Bingo still patiently hiding in the toybox, Dad playing on his phone in the linen cupboard and Mum cleaning the shower.
After acknowledging and having a giggle about Blueys distractedness, round two of hide and seek commences.
We learn that Chattermax has found a new home next to the doggnome statue (where hopefully she’ll short circuit and be quiet forevermore).
