#lifelesson: one of the most testing times of toddler-hood is the “I do it myself” period
It’s Bandits birthday so Chilli and the girls are going to make him breakfast in bed. Chilli assigns tasks so it can be done in the quickest possible way (as Bandit gets hangry). Bluey is assigned , Bingo is assigned the card, and Chilli is going to make her speciality, a super quick omelette.
However, Bingo already made a card at kindy and wants to “help” with the omelette. In true toddler “I can do it” fashion she gets the eggs (2 casualties) and insists on cleaning them up (paper towel everywhere), getting the bowl (cupboard emptied out) and cracking the eggs (shells and egg everywhere). Meanwhile, Bandit is getting hungry/angry, and Bluey spills the OJ everywhere.
Chilli eventually has to take control to make a “super quick omelette) egg the last 2 eggs, Bluey us dispatched with celery for Dad, and Bingo is sent to play with the salt and pepper shakers.
Her game, overheard by Chilli, is about a character who isn’t allowed to help… #mumguilt
Bandit appears in search of food, spotting the completed omelette, but Bluey chases him back to the bedroom. Chilli tells Bingo that in fact she DOES need help to make the omelette and they go in search of more eggs from Lucky’s Dad. Montage of messily learning to crack eggs, whisk them up and pour them into the frypan (with another stop to Judo’s mum for MORE eggs), and we finally gave an omelette completely cooked by Bingo.
Breakfast is delivered to a ravenous bandit who devours it (egg shells and all) to proclaim it’s the BEST omelette he’s ever had in his life.
As the girls clear away the tray to go and make Bandit another omelette, we hear the crash of ANOTHER mess being made…
