#2.10 Fancy Restaurant

Bluey Recap: Fancy Restaurant (#2.10)

#bestbits: Bandits backyard vom

#lifelesson: jelly and leftover dinner don’t mix, and romance doesn’t have to be roses and restaurants

Chilli and Bandit are relaxing when the girls come in to ask them to “smoochy kiss” - they know all about ‘romance’ and they are going to set up a ‘Fancy Restaurant’ to teach Dad.

Upon arrival at the restaurant, maître de Bluey shows ‘Romeo McFlourish’ and his newly acquainted date to their table. Chef Bingo arrives with a pan of tinned baked beans but is hustled back into the kitchen.

Maître de Bluey distributes menus, tells them specials of the day (there are none), and eventually takes their order of baked beans. Romeo arrives in the kitchen to request a special ‘romance’ meal and Bluey attempts to serenade the diners to encourage the smoochy kiss. Whilst Chilli is gone, Bluey prods Dad as to why he hasn’t achieved ‘romance’ - he admits that he may have lost his moves.

Chef Bingo calls out for Bluey - she has raided the fridge to create a REAL food special of leftovers: jelly, strawberries, spaghetti, gherkins, peas, sausages...

Meanwhile at the table, Chilli and Bandit reflect that they have both forgotten how to do ‘romance’, but agree it is very hard when they are tired, and get interrupted all the time.

Dinner arrives and Chilli pretends to take a mouthful but the girls are offended she is not eating it ‘for real life’. Bandit then does the most romantic thing all night - he asks if he can swap meals with her.

The girls watch on in delight as he consumes the entire mountain of mixed leftovers (whilst trying not to heave or spit it back out).

After dinner, Chilli takes her new love for a ‘romance’ walk. The girls reflect that they didn’t see a smoochy kiss, but holding hands and Mum giving Dad a back rub was close enough.

Meanwhile, Chilli’s back rub has helped Bandit to vomit up his ‘leftover special’.
