#2.8 Stumpfest

Bluey Recap: Stumpfest (#2.8)

#bestbits: Chilli and Aunt Trixie having a ‘girls arvo’ on the balcony

#lifelesson: you will always lose if you negotiate with 6year old terrorists

Bandit and Uncle Stripe head out to the backyard with their shovels and esky on a mission... Stumpfest!

As Lucky’s Dad joins in, Bandit explains to Bluey that they have to remove 2 stumps from the yard (for the ‘laaydies’). Cue testosterone fueled high fives and air jabs from the Dads and cat calls from the Mums on the balcony.

Bluey, Bingo and Muffin decide to set up a nail salon on the remaining stump, promising they’ll stop the game when it’s time to remove that stump.

The girls proceed to decorate the stump with paint, flowers and nail polish. After their first happy customers leave (the Mums), they ask if Bandit will be next. The Dads are too involved celebrating their de-stumping victory and doing muscle men poses though.

As the Dads come over to remove stump #2, Bluey plays innocent and claims she has no knowledge of making any deals. This creates a stump stand off while the Mums egg them on by cheering “save our stump”.

Uncle Stripe insists that they can take the kids on, however Bandit calls for a negotiation. After discussion between the opposing parties, the kids agree to give up the stump AFTER the Dads be nail salon customers.

When the time comes to claim the stump, Chilli has to be called in to enforce the original deal.

Bluey complains that it isn’t fair as you shouldn’t interrupt people playing. Chilli agrees and says that’s why she intervened as Bluey was interrupting the Dads game.... after watching carefully Bluey sees that the Dads ARE in fact playing a grown up game (of posing and play fighting) - she happily agrees to let them have their fun too.

Bingo and Muffin appear, armed ready to fight for the stump, but Bluey distracts them into playing another game - providing lemonade for a hefty fee.
