#2.15 Daddy Dropoff
Bluey Recap: Daddy Dropoff (#2.15)
#bestbits: Bandits ability to continue playing games (and not lose his shit) whilst running late
#lifelesson: NEVER let kids know you’re running late (guaranteed procrastination)
This episode introduces Lila who has just started at kindergarten but is a bit shy and has trouble making friends. She says it all changed one day though...
Its morning in the Heeler household and Bluey and Bingo are waking Dad up by playing “pet” with his feet.
Chilli reminds Bandit that it’s Daddy Dropoff day which prompts him to leap out of bed... unfortunately the girls have his ankles in pet leads ready for ‘walkies’
At the breakfast bench, Bandit is madly making lunches as Chilli makes a dash for work. Bluey and Bingo are doing an excellent job of procrastinating and ignoring Dad, much to his frustration (yet he keeps his cool AND still plays along).
In the car Bandit has to pretend to call Bingo on the hands free phone (about her missing jumper) but he keeps getting onto Marjorie (Bluey). After finally connecting to Bingo, Bandit turns the car around, sprints inside to grab the forgotten jumper, and gets back on the road (after being put into hilarious slo-mo again by the leaf wand).
They arrive at Bingo’s kindergarten and have to play ‘walk straight’ on the way to the door. Upon arriving, Bandit tries to leave quickly (still running late) but Bingo asks for a game of ‘wind up’. He eventually gives in and she happily robot marches into kindergarten as Bandit plank-carries Bluey through the carpark in a rush to get her to school.
On the way Bluey ponders how late they’d be if Dad hadn’t done wind up, and they both agree that it doesn’t matter as it was fun and made Bingo happy.
Bluey slips into school and we flash back to kindergarten where Bingo’s wind up has wound down.... she asks new girl Lila to wind her up again and they happily robot walk around the room together, becoming great friends.
