#2.35 Typewriter
Bluey Recap: Typewriter (#2.35)
#bestbits: Calypso being the calm and ethereal teacher we all wish we were
#lifelesson: don’t be a space invader, and all you need is imagination
This episode is set at Bluey’s Steiner Kindy. She is playing on an old typewriter when the call goes out that Calypso is telling a story. The kids gather to listen to a story about an old dog sitting on a box begging for treats. One day a doggnome comes and asks him to open the box which he thought was empty - it’s full of treats! Bluey proclaims this doesn’t make sense and goes to write her own story, but her typewriter is gone!
Bluey decides to find Calypso for help, and on the way is joined by Snickers (who is sad he can’t sit yet) and Winton (who thinks everyone runs away from him).
As their quest takes then up a hill, they arrive at a bridge guarded by the Scottish terriers who mount a pretend attack with bows and arrows. Bluey has a plan to get Snickers to sneak through the copse of skinny trees which he completes with ease!
The remaining two terriers wonder why Bluey and Winton aren’t attacking. Bluey has another plan - get Winton to ask the scouting terrier a question to make him run away. Bluey explains that this will happen as Winston is a personal “space invader”, and makes people uncomfortable.
Now there is only one terrier left. Winton suggests a shield (imaginary) which he hands to Bluey to defend the bows and arrows and cross the bridge. As they run up the hill, Bluey calls for Snickers to do his “sausage dog roll” down the hill, bowling over the terriers. Winton realises he has maintained social distance from Bluey without being reminded and rushes off to play with the others.
Bluey arrives at the wise Calypso’s vantage point and they search for the typewriter. Calypso gets Bluey to show the shield she used defending the terriers, and then prompts her to use a pretend typewriter as well, thus allowing Bluey to continue her game with only her imagination.
