#2.44 Octopus
Bluey Recap: Octopus (#2.44)
#bestbits: Chloe’s Dad #nerdburger
#lifelesson: Octopi have tentacles, and a family that nerds together, stays together
Chloe is at The Heeler’s house having a play date with Bluey. They are setting up to play a game of “Octopuses” with Bandit pretending to be the octopus. The girls distract the octopus by telling him to look at a bird and manage to steal his treasure.
On the way home, Chloe asks her Dad if they can play “Octopuses”.
Once home, Chloe sets up the couch and treasure and attempts to explain the game rules to her Dad, including silly octopus sounds and wavy arms. Although willing to give it a go, her Dads academic side leads him to correct her on facts and question the game basics. Chloe has a turn at being the octopus, however her Dad still isn’t playing “properly” and she ends up stopping the game, declaring that Bluey’s Dad is more fun.
Upset, Chloe’s Dad ambles over to his computer and Chloe eventually joins him. He is doing some research on Octopi to help him play the game better and together they learn that octopi are very smart and DO collect treasures. They both apologise and agree that in future, when playing the octopus game, rather than saying “no”, they will say “yes!”. They then hug and continue to research ocean facts together!
It’s Bluey’s turn to visit for a play date and Chloe suggests they play Octopuses with her Dad. The game becomes ‘next level’, incorporating all the fun facts that Chloe and her Dad learnt! Chloe’s Dad is a poisonous octopus, but luckily Chloe is an electric eel who shocks the octopus into letting them past to steal the treasure. On the way back, they distract the octopus with flying fish before Bluey is “inked” and Chloe captured after attempting to electrocute him. Bluey saves them both with Chloe’s idea to use a cushion to become a flat backed sea turtle!
Bluey requests that she be a poisonous AND electric octopus, which Chloe and her Dad respond to with a happy “yes!”
