#2.49 The Quiet Game
Bluey Recap: The Quiet Game (#2.49)
#bestbits: the opera harmonising
#lifelesson: kids will ALWAYS take the game too far, and be careful what you wish for.
Bandit is trying to relax on the couch when Bluey and Bingo burst in playing a noisy game of “beanbag big bum”. He asks them to play quieter and suggests they play his new game where you don’t say anything. They agree and start miming activities as Bandit congratulates himself.
As Chilli rushes off to work she asks Bandit to buy Muffins birthday present: a Moonlight Unicorn - BUT not one she already has.
On the way to the department store, Bluey and Bingo continue with the “quiet game” and we see a nervous Alfie being dropped off for his first day of work. Inside the store, Bandit tries to pause the girls game so they can tell him what to buy. A hilarious sequence of charades follows (with Bandit asking Alfie to find some moon-sprinklers) until he eventually figures out it is a ‘Moonlight Unicorn’ that they need.
Unfortunately, there are hundreds of varieties but the girls can’t (won’t) tell Dad the name. Bandit chooses one at random and they go to pay - he reflects that it really can’t be that bad of Muffin gets one she already has until the girls act out Muffin receiving the wrong unicorn (massive toddler tantrum).
Back to the unicorn display they go as the girls silently agree to act out the one Muffin wants. Alfie is enlisted to help decode the girls charades.
He takes this very seriously (his Mum told him to help people), and correctly deciphers the girls acting.... PenDragon! The girls cheer (breaking their silence) and the gathered crowd chants “Alfie!!!”, earning him a congrats from his new boss!
Back at home the girls are happily wrapping Muffins gift whilst singing opera, and as Chilli comes home she cautions them to be quieter for their Dad. Bandit joins in the opera and happily replies that it’s music to his ears.
