#lifelesson: making good time’s is more important than making good time
Bandit is packing the car for a weekend away camping as he explains to Bluey and Bingo that they need to ‘motor’ to get a good campsite, and yes it’s a long drive and yes, they may get bored.
Once on the road, Bluey proclaims she is bored. Luckily Chilli packed the iPad tablets, buuuuuutttttt they’re in the boot so they have to pull over. Bandit is agitated at taking more time and sure enough, a musical horn sounds, signalling the ‘Grey Nomads’. Bandit throws everything back in and they pull out just in front of the “nannas and grandads in big slow caravans”.
The girls are upset they can’t play iPad games but Chilli knows lots of non-tablet car games! Eye spy is first followed by a jumping game using their fingers on the windowsill. This is a great success until they are overtaken by a cattle truck and have to pull over at a servo to clean the windscreen. Despite Dads warning, they all jump out, then have to jump back in to get in front of the grey nomads again.
After the ‘train race’ game they have to pull up at roadworks. Bluey needs to do a bush wee, where she gets bored AGAIN, until Chilli tells her that sometimes you just have to be bored and wait until something turns up. Just as the stop sign changes, Bingo needs to do a wee, and much to Bandits chagrin, the grey nomads overtake them.
Bluey discovers the pull down centre console table in the back, which leads to the discovery of the iPad tablets! However, the girls play a game of petrol station with the table instead, keeping them amused as they slowly travel behind the grey nomads.
To Bandits delight, the caravans turn off the freeway, but once the girls learn they are all going to visit the “Big Peanut”, they want to go too.
Bandit relents and they all stop to marvel at the large Aussie icon.
