#lifelesson: introduce the “curry swap” into your life! And we can all be heroes of our own quest
Chilli is teaching Bluey how to crochet and also explaining what a quest is, which ties into Bandit going on a “curry swap/quest”.
Chilli explains that a quest starts with the hero (Bingo) when adventure calls (Bandit). Usually the hero finds a reason not to go on the quest, but then something changes their mind.
Once the quest begins, challenges pop up (walking on one leg). Sometimes they meet friends on the way (Doreen) and their friends often warn them of danger ahead (the swooping magpie). The friend also gives some timely advice (keep your eyes on the magpie) which Bandit and Bingo follow - until they have to walk backwards which Bingo can’t do so they RUN!
The heroes then arrive at their destination (MacKenzie’s house). This isn’t the end of the quest though, as Chilli explains to Bluey that this is when a secret is revealed and the story takes a twist. The secret is that Bandit is heading off on a work trip tomorrow for 6 weeks (which Bingo hadn’t been told yet but MacKenzie let slip).
This is where the true challenge of the quest is revealed (Poor Bingo is devastated).
Mackenzie’s Mum calls Bingo over for face painting and distracts her with a story about sometimes having to do things you don’t want to. Bingo is painted as a lion and roars with courage!
As Bandit and Bingo are leaving, Bingo has one last face painting request…
Chilli explains to Bluey that all good heroes learn something on their quest as they face their final challenge… Bingo has learnt how to avoid swooping magpies (by having eyes painted on the back of her and Dads heads), and that sometimes we have to be brave and do things we don’t want to do (like saying goodbye).
After a montage of Bandit leaving, the school fair, the magpie babies being born, and 6 weeks passing, Bandit returns and our hero is rewarded!
