Chilli, Bluey and Bingo are in the car on the way to Grandads house. Bluey doesn’t want to eat her pumpkin seeds and reasons that she should be able to decide for herself - Mum disagrees. Mum also explains that Grandad has just had a heartworm, and that he should be resting.
They arrive to find Grandad doing ‘Stumpfest’ and as Chilli berates him for not resting he makes a run for it with the girls.
They run into the bush to hide from Chilli, and decide to head for the canoes. Bluey and Bingo proclaim they are hungry and luckily Grandad has a buried backpack full of food. As Bluey helps Grandad open some chips (bad thumbs), she asks why he isn’t resting. He responds that he feels fine and it should be up to him (to which she strongly agrees). She again refuses the pumpkin seeds, despite Grandad telling her they’ll help her grow big and strong.
Chilli suddenly appears and the chase resumes. Grandad and the girls hide in Maynards fishing cabin just as a breathless Chilli arrives. She tells Maynard that she needs her Dad to look after himself as SHE still needs him. Maynard is distracted by a fish on his line and Chilli busts into the cabin as Grandad and the girls run down the jetty and escape in the canoe.
However Chilli isn’t giving up and dives in to swim after them, only giving up chase after Bluey and Bingo take the oars and “canooeeeee!”
As the escapees reach another jetty, they get out of the canoe and Grandad tells them that Chilli will most likely find them as this used to be her favourite spot as a kid. The girls want to run and hide again but Grandad finally says that he needs a rest, and the girls go for a swim.
Chilli joins him on the jetty and they reminisce about when Chilli was a kid - just yesterday in Grandads eyes. Bluey has finally relented and is eating her pumpkin seeds.
